S. ALAN COHN

S. Alan Cohn graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1968 and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1971.  After serving in the United States Army, he moved to Atlanta where he has been practicing both commercial and residential real estate since 1972.  Alan is a  member of the Real Estate and  Fiduciary Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia and is a member of  the Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association.  Since 2002, he has served on the Board of the University of Georgia Law School Association Council, which gives input and support to the University's Law School.   Alan is also an active speaker at Real Estate Seminars for attorneys, paralegals, real estate agents, and mortgage brokers.

Within the local Atlanta community, Alan has been very active.  He is a founding member and Past-President of Congregation B'nai Torah and was Chair of the Construction Committee during the period of the Synagogue's construction.  He is also a Past President of Hillel's of Georgia currently serving on the Board of Governors.  Alan was also previously Chair of the University of Georgia Bulldog Board.   Alan has also served on various committees at the Marcus Jewish Community Center, where he presently serves as Chair of the Lisa F. Brill Institute of Adult Education as well as the Jewish Welfare Federation of Greater Atlanta, where he recently chaired the President's Leadership Training Institute.   Alan has also been a recipient of the Israel Bonds – Tree of Life Award as well as an honoree at the Hillel's of Georgia Campus Superstar.
